Welcome to the Nottingham Indoor Bowls Centre's Home Site.
This presents you with basic information on our 8-Rink indoor "flat green" Bowling Club.
We have around 500 playing members who enjoy our excellent bowling and social facilities.
Our premises were newly built by Nottingham City Council in 1980, and our Club was formed and opened in 1981.
We are situated approximately 3 miles North of the City, just off Nottingham ring road, and within easy motorway access.
We are proud to boast one of the best Indoor Bowling surfaces in the country, and have hosted parts of the English Indoor Bowls Association National Championships regularly.
We have also previously been delighted to host important International Championships.
Our 8-Rink "Greengage" bowling carpet is supported by a "Dales" timberbase, and a special new "Duralay" underlay laid by "Dales" in July 2012.
Our main facilities incude:
Restaurant area to seat at least 70 guests.
Fully licensed bar.
Comfortable lounge area, including spectator viewing of the bowling arena.
Bowls for hire.
Secure large car park for cars and coaches.
Meeting room for hire at modest cost.
Our Club is open from early morning until late evening, 7 days per week, throughout the winter period from September to May.
We then offer Summer Indoor Bowling and Leagues on selected days to suit demand.
Our dress code is simple - white from the waist up, grey trousers/skirt below, plus flat bowls shoes.
We are a mixed Club, catering for Men and Ladies of all ages, including junior members from age 7 upwards.
We provide a bowls programme to suit all abilities for Men, Ladies or mixed play.
For new bowlers , we organise excellent beginners courses, run by our experienced coaches, intented to encourage your interest in developing basis bowling skills which will help you enjoy a new active and rewarding pastime.
For the already experienced bowler, we offer a competetive bowls programme of leagues and competitions,encompassing all levels of ability, from bowling in National Competitions with our top "internationals" to taking part in our leagues and Club Competitions and inter-Club friendly fixtures.
Bowls is especially a social and healthy activity which the older person can enjoy, either playing casually with friends, or in pleasurable friendly competition.
We also provide special facilities, including wheelchair use for disability groups.
